Education & Artistic Foundations
My foundation as an artist began long before digital media became part of my practice. In 1994, I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Photography from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. I continued my studies through master-level drawing coursework and further study in art education at Northern Kentucky University.
That traditional training in drawing, painting, photography, composition, light, and observation continues to inform the way I work today. The tools have evolved, but the foundation remains the same: seeing, feeling, and creating with intention.
Inspiration And The Digital Medium
My art is inspired by people, emotion, and the quiet moments that tell a story. Drawn to dramatic light and shadow, I create images that invite the viewer to pause, feel, and find their own meaning. Digital art became my chosen medium because it offers the freedom to combine traditional drawing techniques with modern tools, producing original hand-drawn works that feel both timeless and contemporary.

Art has always been a way for me to explore emotion, light, shadow, and the human experience. My work is deeply personal, often focusing on quiet moments, vulnerability, and the stories that can be told without words.
My Approach
Working primarily in digital media and hand-drawing in Procreate, I approach each piece much like a traditional drawing or painting. I build the work through layers of line, color, light, and shadow, allowing the image to develop gradually. My goal is not simply to create a likeness, but to capture a feeling—a moment that invites the viewer to stop, look, and connect.
Themes Of Reflection And Human Connection
My work explores themes of solitude, reflection, hope, vulnerability, and the enduring human need for connection. Through strong contrasts of light and shadow centered around the human figure, I capture scenes that feel quiet yet emotionally powerful. My hope is that collectors feel a personal resonance when living with these pieces, finding reflections of their own journey and discovering new depth every day.

Every piece begins with a core idea or feeling. Drawing by hand in Procreate, I deliberately shape every composition, shadow, color tone, and fine detail. Every stroke represents a conscious artistic choice. Producing museum-grade, signed limited-edition prints allows me to preserve that fine craftsmanship in physical form, ensuring exact color accuracy, archival longevity, and true value for collectors.
